The time has COME!
You need to get your bag packed for the hospital. Below is a list of essentials of what goes in mom’s hospital bag:
- Photo ID/Insurance card: you will need this for check in.
- Lottie Dottie robe: our mothers delivery robes are perfect for early morning wakeups and late-night nursing sessions. We also offer a matching baby swaddle and beanie/headband to capture those memorable hospital moments.
- Non-skid socks: to keep your feet warm and help with traction on the slippery hospital floor.
- Loose clothing: after labor you’ll want all the comfort you can get, just the thing for a new mom.
- Nursing bras: for ease when nursing in the hospital.
- Breast pump: bring your breast pump if you plan to nurse so the lactation consultant can go over features and answer any questions.
- Extra-long phone charger: the hospital bed is likely in the middle of the room. To make sure your phone is charged for all the videos, pictures and Face Timing – a long phone charger is just the thing.
- Toiletries: be sure to pack shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, lotion, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, glasses, contacts, your regular skincare, makeup wipes and any makeup you plan to wear.
- Towel: most hospitals do not provide these, and nothing beats the shower after giving birth.
- Medication: pack any medication you took throughout pregnancy or as advised by your physician.
- Firestick or Roku: most hospital rooms are equipped with a TV that is HDMI compatible.
- Snacks and change for vending machine: this one is self-explanatory!
- Blanket: to get the feeling of home, bring your own blanket.
- Pillow: the pillows aren’t as comfortable at the hospital, so if that’s an issue for you its best to pack your own.
- Laptop/Tablet/Book: to pass the time if you are in labor for a while or have an extended stay.
Remember to pack the essentials and not much else. Packing lightly will make it easier when leaving the hospital with that new little bundle in tow!
